Green Bird Wrasse

Gomphosus varius

The male is the bright, emerald green fish with a long bird nose and almost a flight-like motion in the water. It can grow to 12” long. The Green Bird Wrasse uses its bird-like beak to find its prey between coral branches and rocks and in the sand. It uses a routing like motion to find mollusks, crinoids, crabs and more.

The Green Bird Wrasse is native to the Indo-Pacific.
