Rose Bubble Tip Anemone

Entacmaea quadricolor

The Rose Bubble Tip Anemone is a member of the invertebrate family. Although it is small, but adds a bright touch of red color and lots of interest to our tank. It is a carnivorous being that is found mainly in ocean reefs. It attaches itself to dead coral and stretches its sweeper tentacles to gather in food. This anemone's diet includes fish, shrimp, worms and other organisms.

Rose Tip Bubble Anemones have the ability to sting living corals and other anemones. The tentacles of the Rose Bubble Tips are covered with stinging cells called cnidocytes. These cnidocytes inject venom into organisms that come in contact with them.

The Indian Ocean is primarily where the Rose Bubble Tip Anemone is found.
