Monacanthidae
Our Filefish has two dorsal fins and no pelvic fin. His body is mottled earthtones to blend in with the coral reef where he is usually found. He is well camouflaged. He is shy and likes to hide. Look among the coral, behind rocks and you just might find him.
Filefish are omnivores, and eat both plants and meat. They like algae and shrimp, crabs, tubeworms and more. This specimen is native to Atlantic waters.
