Briareum violacea
Green Star Polyps have a bright purple base with bright green polyps. The polyps remain open during the day but at night are closed. They also close if the polyps are disturbed. Green Star Polyps are hearty and can grow and spread rapidly. They are photosynthetic, meaning they use the algae that they host on their bodies and the sun’s energy to create chemical reactions which feed them.
Green Star Polyps are found in Fiji and Indonesia.
