Stichodactylidae
With its origin in the Indo-Pacific the carpet anemone is usually found on rocky reefs that have muddy or sandy substrate. It has a wavy soft look with short to medium length tentacles that can deliver a mild sting.
The Carpet Anemone is host to clownfish. It can harm other anemones and corals as it moves around in an aquarium with its sting. It is a carnivore that eats fresh fish, shrimp, large mysis shrimp and other meat foods.
